COMMENTS:
Just past the old Phoenix mine outside
of Cave Creek. REMAINS: A
few foundations and rocks in the canyon.
Edith had a post office from July to
December 1888. Named for the postmaster's wife, Edith never amounted to
much although a huge mill was erected in hopes millions would be taken
from the mines. In all, only $100,000 was taken and the mill sat idle most
of the time. As the ore quickly ran out, so did the town and today only a
few foundations still cling to the canyon walls north of Phoenix.
